Amref Health Africa-Tanzania is largely supported by Multilateral, Bilateral and National donors, implementing several programmes including HIV/AIDS/TB/Malaria, Reproductive, Maternal, new-born and Child Health, Water and sanitation, capacity building and clinical outreach. Project Officer Amref Health Africa in Simiyu – Bariadi DC The vacancy is open only for Tanzanian Nationals To lead and provide technical/engineering support on construction work (rehabilitation/renovation) for Uzazi Uzima Project in Simiyu Region, in all proposed health facilities, in terms of infrastructures and sanitation facilities including improving water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) conditions through borehole drillings and water supply network infrastructures of health centers (HCs) and dispensaries. Also, to support the Project Manager in the implementation of Uzazi Uzima II project to ensure timely implementation of project construction activities to achieve the project goals and targets. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Act as a construction Project Manager who will be accountable for the technical expertise, implementation and supervision of all construction works of Uzazi Uzima Project. In collaboration with Project Manager, s/he will implement planned project activities and prepare, activity reports, monthly reports and donor reports To ensure construction of facilities are done adequately to increase access to adequate and safe water in health care facilities and dispensaries. To support the increase of sanitation and hygiene facilities and practices in health care facilities and dispensaries To conduct day today site supervision of construction work in the 24 health facilities to ensure quality and standards are being met Ensure compliance with environment management policy – EMP and compliance with relevant environmental, waste management, and gender audits, is included in the contract documents for contractor Address queries from prospective bidders/contractors, carrying out pre-tender site meetings and preparation of minutes of meeting Conduct comprehensive supervision with the District Authorities on activities carried out by the contractors to ensure complete compliance with the drawings, technical specifications and various stipulations contained in the contract documents In collaboration with district and regional authorities, monitor all construction as per work-plan and environmental management plan and produce construction reports Support District engineers to regularly monitor the progress and quality or certification of all construction works, and to submit construction progress reports to Amref Health Africa – Tanzania Checking and revising the Contractor’s programme to ensure completion of works within deadline as per signed contract Address al contractor’s claims and any contractual matters that may come up during project implementation To ensure that gender is being mainstreamed in all constructed and renovated facilities To ensure timely, efficient and appropriate use of project funds for specific deliverables are met and that and payments to contractors and personnel are received on time as per work certification. To liaison with Project Manager to ensure proper communication and involvement with district partners on implementation of project activities. To liaison with Project Manager to ensure necessary communication with consortium partners, government ministries and contractors To support Project Manager in Project development, concept note, and proposal writing in consistent with Amref Health Project goal and strategy. To work closely with local and national government authorities? For hand-over of completed construction works. Maintain employee records according to Amref Health Africa policy and legal requirements Ensure employees compliance with Amref Global Code of Conduct, Safeguarding policy, HR audits and donor audits recommendations Recruitment & Selection Create, supervise and implement effective onboarding plans as per Amref Health Africa Identify the right candidates for the right job through assessments, interviews and employee profiling processes Maintain fair and equitable recruitment approach in line with the specific job requirements Conduct relevant employment background and reference checks on all employees and prepare job offers to the successful candidates Create a pool of suitable candidates for future employment on data base to meet the employment demands of the business Employee Administration Ensure that contracts of permanent and temporary staff are prepared in collaboration with other departments. Ensure that salary packages of Amref Health Africa staff members are prepared as per Organization Human Resources policy. Ensure that files are opened for new appointments and transfers are done. Ensure that files are closed when employees resign or services are terminated. Ensure that Time sheet, attendance register sheets is scrutinized monthly. Ensure that new employee’s forms and contracts are received and completed (Pension Fund, Medical Aid, Social Security, etc.) Disciplinary & Grievances Take part in the disciplinary hearing process, assist to verify and confirm warnings and monitor improvement of undesirable behavior and misconduct Routine Administrative functions Support the Amref Health Africa HR Unit to conduct staff exit interviews to minimize the staff turnover and retain good performers Manage employee mobility through transfers, promotions and terminations Ensure that all letters and other correspondences are correct, signed and send out on time Provide input to the policy and procedure formulation and amendments on an ongoing basis Qualification, skills and experience Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations and Business Administration. JOB TITLE Nutritionist SUMMARY The selected person will be responsible for proper implementation of project health facility nutrition activities, as per work plan of Doctors with Africa CUAMM dedicated to severe acute malnourished children. He/She will coordinate with the Project Manager. He/She will also be co-responsible to maintain good relationships with government counterparts and other stakeholders at local and District level and, particularly, with health institutions. PROJECT INTEGRATED PROJECT FOR THE RIGHT TO WATER, HEALTH AND NUTRITION IN DODOMA AND IRINGA REGIONS – CENTRAL TANZANIA OBJECTIVES AND EXPECTED RESULTS Objectives The Project Nutritionist will support the health facility personnel and District Authorities in developing services aiming at increasing awareness as well as at detecting and referring cases of children with malnutrition. Activities which are able to promote changes in behaviours and best practices in nutrition at facility level, offering effective nutrition services and treatment, increasing the sensibility and knowledge on nutrition issues. Main tasks Support the Project Manager in planning, monitoring and coordinating health facility activities; Conduct health facility support, working side by side with the health staff, doing daily training on the job and staying in the health facility the time needed for understanding the gaps and the needs. Identify training needs and prepare training programs for health staff in collaboration with the doctors in charge and the PM. Conduct quarterly health facility supervisions of health staff activities utilizing the given tools and following the IMAM guidelines; Prepare reports and analyses; Conduct data collection in the health facility of the Project’s area; Monitoring the data collection process in collaboration with the PM; Prepare and conduct with the PM the quarterly IMAM meeting with all the in charge of the health facilities and the medical authorities to give the supportive supervision feedback and plan together the next step forward. Plan, organize and ensure that mapping activities are correctly done and that they meet the project’s expected targets; Remains up-to-date with latest methodologies, best practices and donor requirements in nutrition and other related health programs; Contribute to ensure and supervise the effective referral systems along the continuum of care for the project beneficiaries in collaboration with the field officer, DNuOs and the health staff. Supervise the correct use of Therapeutic food in the health facility and coordinate the quarterly order from the District to the Organization. Participate to District and Regional Nutrition meeting with the PM. As part of the team, she will contribute to CUAMM’s general Mission and Goals.
